To conclude my degree at WAAPA, I composed for, directed, and conducted an ensemble of talented student musicians.

I spent the year of 2024 writing for a mixed chamber ensemble consisting of 2 flutes, Bb clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, percussion (marimba and drum kit), piano, 2 violins, viola, and cello.
While much of the work I’ve done at WAAPA has had restraints, or goals, this recital was my chance to compose with complete freedom.

I wanted to write a set of ensemble works that could be appreciated and enjoyed for the music itself, without the intention to accompany another form of media, or to experiment with new techniques. My portfolio was the result of four years of study, and reflects all the things I’ve come to love about music through melodies, harmonies, rhythms, and timbre.
